One breath at a time, on the days the body asks for it

On the middle days, when training is wrong and doing nothing is also wrong.

Some mornings your body files an objection. Nothing is injured and nothing is wrong, but the idea of a session lands badly, and so does the idea of doing nothing at all.

We keep two boxes for movement: train, or rest. Most days are not either. Most days sit somewhere in between, and the in between has nowhere to go.

The day that is neither

When your recovery reads low, Niyavo does not simply subtract. It names something restorative instead, a flow to move through rather than a session to get through, and it does so on the morning that most needs it rather than after you have already talked yourself out of everything.

The flow asks very little of your attention. The pose plays in front of you on a loop, so there is nothing to reconstruct from a diagram, and a countdown tells you the next one is coming before it arrives. You are never behind, and never guessing.

Not every day is a day for effort, and not every day is a day for nothing.

Movement that meets you

Gentle work still counts. It keeps the week continuous, which is most of what a week needs, and it leaves you better placed for the harder day that follows it.

So on the mornings your body files its objection, listen, then move anyway, softly. One breath at a time is still moving.
