The weight is already filled in; the next number is yours

On why Niyavo remembers what you lifted last time, and still leaves the next number to you.

You get to the rack and the first thing you do is try to remember. Was it the heavier plate last time, or did you drop back after that bad week? The set has not started and you are already doing arithmetic.

There are two usual answers and both cost something. Remember nothing, and the weeks blur into each other. Or let the app decide, adding a fixed increment on a fixed schedule, a number chosen by a rule that has never met your morning.

Remembered, not decided

Niyavo takes the first job entirely. Arrive at the set and the weight you used last time is already in the field, with the reps beside it, waiting. Nothing to look up, nothing to carry in your head from one Tuesday to the next.

Then it stops. It does not advance the number for you. Whether today is heavier is a judgement, and judgement needs things a schedule cannot know: how the warm up felt, how you slept, whether the first rep moved the way a first rep should.

Memory is the app's job. Judgement is yours.

The number you choose

If the movement itself is wrong for today, change it, and the alternative arrives with the reason it was offered, in plain words rather than a shrug.

So get to the rack with nothing to remember. The last number is already there. The next one is a decision, and it stays yours to make.
